Level vi prepare: fifteen (15) major scales from memory four octaves in sixteenth notes ascending and descending hands together in parallel motion m.m. quarter note = 92-112 perform: three (3) of the prepared major scales all three scales are chosen by the adjudicator.

Nyssma (pronounced niss-muh), is an acronym for "new york state school music association." nyssma maintains a large, comprehensive listing of solos, chamber ensembles and large ensembles (band, jazz band, orchestra, chorus) graded on a six level scale, with 6 being the highest. (see our grading page for a rough guide to what the levels mean. Nyssma requirements. for instrumentalists, there are three components to a nyssma adjudication. level 5-6 12 scales, one octave up and down. piano level 1 3 scales, one octave up and down. you can play these scales at any tempo and you can play with each hand separately or with both hands at the same time..
